Ross Daly & Kelly Thoma: Contemporary Modal Music from Crete

Multi-instrumentalist Daly has spent decades living in Crete where he’s been both a student and preserver of the local musical traditions. His duo with wife and lyra virtuoso Kelly Thoma will be joined by Michael Harrist (contrabass/percussion) and Tev Stevig (tanbur and plucked strings). Opening the evening is local master fiddler Beth Bahia Cohen, accompanied by Vasilis Kostas (laouto), Mal Barsamian (oud), and Panagiotis Aivazidis (kanun).
